WHO DEY? Mickie Stabbs, Benji Riot and Jay Rebel, from Newport, Wales

No messing about here, oh no. Newport’s Strawberry Blondes are three guys with a love of ’70s punk who make punk music that sounds like it’s come straight outta the ’70s. We’re convinced there must be some kind of time-travelling wizardry at work here, like they were in a rock’n'roll version of Goodnight Sweetheart or something, only with more tunes and less Nicholas shitting Lyndhurst and better hats. Go check them out at their October shows, and maybe take a break from sweatily shoving strangers around to interrogate them about that.
